With rising inflation and higher cost of oil, it should be no surprise that FedEx is raising their rates by 5.9%. These rates are usually announced by FedEx and UPS annually, so it's nothing too out of the ordinary. The rates apply to less-than-load shipments, so pretty much anything you send through FedEx unless it's a very large freight shipment. Read more at

The earthquake in Haiti is a tragedy beyond proportion. We are happy to hear of the UPS donation of a million dollars in free freight services offered to Haiti. UPS is offering these freight services through the Red Cross, UNICEF, and CARE in order to help deliver aid and supplies. Twitter rumors started popping up that UPS was offering the services for free to individuals to ship to Haiti, but this is not true. Be sure to give what you can to help the people of Haiti. We hope and pray for them.
